Benefits of electric biking

Benefits of electric biking

Fun!
First Out - Electric Bikes are fun, everyone grins when they are riding a bicycle at speed, the feeling of the wind or the sun against you, the feeling of amazement at the power of a little battery and motor beneath you.
For everyone
The benefits of electric bikes are not only to be reaped by cyclist's that realise that they could cycle further and/or explore more out of their normal cycling zone when they get the assistance of an electric boost. Or that people can continue to ride their bike into their aging years. Those that would not even consider riding now can think again now it's possible to get a bit of a thrust of power along the way. Electric bikes certainly can take the hard work out of cycling, but that doesn't mean that the rider is being lazy - on the contrary, they will be exerting the effort that they would if they were walking and who would say someone was being lazy because they were walking and not running?
Compared to a car
Electric bikes make sense in a world that obviously needs to consider what vehicle we are going to use to get from A to B. Travelling by car these days is not the romantic picture it was 50 years ago. Now we're sitting in traffic that is a pain. The cost of fuel is a pain and the mess that is being made of the air our children breathe in is a pain too. So even though electric bikes need to be charged up which uses electricity, there is no comparison to the detriment to our environment compared to a car, whichever battery pack chemistry you use. There are many ways to make electricity and I know only one way to make petrol.
No sitting in traffic
Sitting in Traffic waiting your turn is not a benefit of driving a car especially when we are late for work, well I'll say no more except the speed at which you can overtake a stationary car is amazing!!
Low cost travel
Electric bicycles use an efficient motor to run them and the electricity that is needed is in the peanut bracket when it comes to getting your wallet or purse out.
No paperwork
You do not need a licence, a log book, an MOT, Insurance, tax disc or fossil fuels or even to wear a helmet (However it is a good Idea and I recommend it) to ride an electric bike on the road. However you do have to be at least 14 years of age. Although, I will say that roads are not always the place young electric bikers want to hang out.
To Rehabilitate
Electric bikes have proven to be a great way for people rehabilitating after long spells in hospital as a step towards getting back to being fighting fit again.
Mobility
Electric bikes can give mobility that an electric wheelchair can't.
Raising consciousness
If you own an electric bike and use it, others will see what an amazing investment you have made and see that electric bikes are a viable means of transport and just maybe they will join the revolution, get one for themselves, use it, and raise national consciousness and before we know it fighting has ceased, and electric vehicles are in common place and the ice caps have stopped melting.

It feels like I could go on forever with this page!
